Hayden Stout Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on I-40 in Oldham County near Adrian

21-Year-Old Hayden Stout Killed in Oldham County Two-Vehicle Crash on I-40 near Adrian

Oldham County, Texas (May 6, 2020) – Two people were killed, and another was injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Oldham County near Adrian, according to DPS.

The fatal crash occurred at about 11:55 a.m., May 5, on Interstate 40.

DPS said a car was traveling westbound behind a semi-truck when the driver failed to control their speed and hit the semi-truck.

The impact ejected all the people in the car. The car caught fire after coming to rest.

The driver of the car was flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock with life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers in the car, Hayden Stout, 21, of Springfield, Illinois, and 21-year-old Tavin Benton of Fullerton, California, were pronounced dead at the scene.

None of the occupants in the car were wearing seatbelts.

The semi-truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
