Hector Leyva Killed in Lower Valley Bicycle Accident on Alameda Avenue near Fresno Drive
Lower Valley, Texas (October 3, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Lower Valley, according to the police.
The accident occurred around 2:06 a.m. October 2, in the 7900 block of Alameda Avenue near Fresno Drive.
Police said Hector Leyva, 59, was riding a bicycle when he was hit by an eastbound dark-colored SUV.
Leyva was taken Del Sol Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
The driver of the SUV, a Hispanic man in his late 20’s or early 30’s, fled the scene. He was last seen speeding southbound on Fresno Drive.
Police are looking for the suspect. Anyone who may know the man is asked to call the police at 915-212-4080 or 915-566-8477.
The Special Traffic Investigation Unit is conducting the investigation.
