Hector Talamantes Killed in Odessa Two-Vehicle Crash on State Loop 338

Odessa, Texas (September 2, 2021) – A man was killed, and a woman was injured Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash, two miles to the southwest of Odessa, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:55 p.m., August 29, on State Loop 338.

DPS said a Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on SL 338 when it failed to stay in its lane and crashed into a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Hector Talamantes, 38, of Odessa.

Talamantes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ford driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
