Henry Stevenson ID’d as Man Killed in San Antonio Crash on Interstate 37 near Donop Road
San Antonio, Texas (September 5, 2022) – Authorities have identified the man who died following a traffic collision on Saturday afternoon in San Antonio as Henry Stevenson, 59.
The deadly crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 3, in the southbound lanes of Interstate 37 near Donop Road.
According to the authorities, a silver pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver attempted to merge into the lane of a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Stevenson.
Stevenson swerved into the grassy median to avoid the silver pickup truck. One of the tires of the silver pickup truck reportedly hit the front right corner of the Chevrolet Blazer.
Stevenson tried to correct the vehicle but lost control causing the Blazer to overturn in the grass. Stevenson and a 5-year-old boy were ejected from the car.
Despite life-saving measures administered by paramedics, Stevenson was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening.
The driver of the silver pickup did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the scene.
Police closed Interstate 37 during the investigation.
