Officer Injured in Houston Car Crash at Westheimer and Barker Cypress Road

Houston, Texas (January 16, 2020) – An HPD officer was injured after a chase ended in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 6 in Houston, according to the authorities.

The crash happened on Wednesday, January 15, at Westheimer and Barker Cypress Road.

Police said one of the officers saw something suspicious with a Dodge Charger at Highway 6 and Briar Hill and decided to pursue it.

The Dodge hit a red car on Barker Cypress and then hit an HPD cruiser.

The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. An officer ran after him and arrested him in a nearby neighborhood.

The officer whose vehicle was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
