Humberto Reyes Jr Dies Weeks After Pedestrian Crash on Americas Avenue in El Paso

Humberto Reyes Jr Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Americas Avenue near Del Valle High School

El Paso, Texas (June 15, 2022) – The man who was injured last month in a pedestrian accident in El Paso has died, according to the police.

Humberto Reyes Jr., 53, of Lower Valley, was pronounced dead on June 6 at the hospital.

The accident happened around 10:00 p.m., May 10, on Americas Avenue near Del Valle High School.

Police said Aida Reyes, 55, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Am when it stalled and stopped on the northbound lanes.

Humberto, who was a passenger in the Pontiac, was standing behind the car when he was hit by a northbound 2016 Hyundai Elantra driven by Leonel Bravo Jr., 22, of the Far East Side.

Humberto was taken to Del Sol Medical Center, where he later died on June 6.

No other details were provided.

The police Special Traffic Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation.
