Jacob Gallegos ID’d as Man Killed in Harlingen Crash at Bonner Street and Business 77

Harlingen, Texas (August 1, 2022) – The man who died following a three-vehicle collision on Saturday at an intersection in Harlingen has been identified as Jacob Anthoney Gallegos, 31, according to the San Benito Police Department.

The deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Bonner Street and Business 77, located in front of the HEB and Walmart, on Saturday, July 30.

San Benito police said a red Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Gallegos, crashed into the back of a Jeep Grande Cherokee, which then struck a Chevy Traverse in front of it.

Gallegos was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by firefighters. He was unresponsive and was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
