Jacob Vernon Breaux Arrested after Baytown Boating Accident

Baytown, Texas (June 25, 2019) – A man was arrested following a fatal Sunday evening boat collision that left three people dead near Baytown, according to the authorities.

The wreck that took place at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, near the Hugo Park Road boat ramp in the Old and Lost River and Cross Bayou area.

According to a preliminary investigation, a large wake boat type vessel hit a bass boat. Both boats were carrying a total of 10 people.

Three people riding on the bass boat were killed in the collision.

Eight other people were injured in the collision. Two of them were flown to a hospital with injuries ranging from critical to non-life threatening.

The driver of the ski boat, identified as Jacob Vernon Breaux, 23, of Baytown, was arrested on three counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.

An investigation  into the incident is ongoing.
