Jamayiah Sargent Killed in Arlington Two-Vehicle Crash on Matlock Road

Arlington, Texas (May 8, 2021) – A woman was killed, and two other people were seriously injured early Thursday morning in a head-on collision in Arlington, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened shortly before 3:00 a.m., May 6, in the 4900 block of Matlock Road.

Police said Bronson Kibler, 21, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra northbound when he crossed over the median and hit a light pole. He continued driving northbound in the southbound lanes and crashed head-on into a southbound 2015 BMW 528i.

Jamayiah Sargent, 22, of Arlington, who was a passenger in the Elantra, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, an infant, was uninjured in the crash.

Kibler and Sargent were the parents of the infant.

Two other people in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Kibler was also taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He is under arrest for one count of intoxication manslaughter and two charges of intoxication assault.

An investigation is underway.
