The impact caused the Escalade to hit a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado then rear-ended a 2012 Ford F-350.

The Cadillac driver, James Nicholas, 59, and a passenger in the Chevrolet, Janice Barras, 67, were taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The semi-truck driver, Jesus Torres-Rodriguez, 59; the Chevrolet driver, Justin Barras, 27; and the Ford driver, Consuela Sanchez-Rodriguez, 48, were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
