Jarred Reza ID’d as Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Mesa Street in El Paso

El Paso, Texas (November 24, 2022) – The pedestrian who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday morning in El Paso has been identified as Jarred Scott Reza, 42.

The crash took place on Mesa Street on Sunday, November 20.

Police said Reza was crossing Mesa Street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle.

Reza died upon the impact.

The driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene but later returned to the crash site. The suspect, Johan Rikardo Jaime, 23, was arrested and charged with an accident involving death. His bail was set at $16,000.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
