Jason Rigstad, Rebecca Barker Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 80E in Abilene

Jason Rigstad and Rebecca Barker Killed in Abilene Motorcycle Crash on East Highway 80

Abilene, Texas (April 27, 2022) – Two people were killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a pickup truck in Abilene on Tuesday evening, according to the Abilene Police Department.

The fatal crash happened at about 7:31 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in the 2500 block of East Highway 80.

Abilene police said a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Highway 80E while a pickup truck was heading westbound on the same highway.

The pickup truck started turning southbound toward the Texas Loop 322 ramp, causing the motorcycle to collide with the truck.

The two occupants on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Jason Michael Rigstad, 46, and Rebecca Mae Barker, 32, both of Abilene.

The 34-year-old man driving the pickup, that vehicle’s sole occupant, did not suffer any injuries.

Alcohol was not considered a factor in the crash.

Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
