Marque High School Student Jason Trevino Dies after Texas City Train Accident on Highway 3 near FM 1765

Texas City, Texas (January 25, 2019) – A Marque High School student was struck and killed by a train while a riding a bicycle in Texas City on Wednesday evening, according to the authorities.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. January 23 on Highway 3 near FM 1765.
Police said Jason Trevino, 15, was riding his bike by the train tracks along Highway 3 when a northbound train struck him. According to the report, Trevino may have been trying to get his bike off the tracks when he was struck.
The teen died of injuries sustained in the accident.
No one on the train was hurt.
The crash is under investigation.
