Jaynee Bibbs Seriously Injured in School Bus Crash on U.S. 84 in Bailey County

Jaynee Bibbs Seriously Injured in Bailey County Muleshoe ISD School Bus Crash on U.S. 84 near CR 103

Bailey County, Texas (February 25, 2021) – One person was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic collision involving a Muleshoe ISD school bus in Bailey County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash occurred just before 1:00 p.m., February 24, on Highway 84 near County Road 103.

DPS said a woman was driving a GMC Acadia SUV eastbound on the highway while a Muleshoe ISD school bus was traveling westbound.

The SUV entered the center median and struck a “Do Not Enter” sign. It then crossed a culvert into the westbound lanes of Highway 84, entered a side skid and struck the side of the school bus.

The SUV driver was taken to Muleshoe Area Hospital with incapacitating injuries. Her passenger, Jaynee Bibbs, was taken to UMC in Lubbock with serious injuries.

The bus driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The four students on board the bus were taken to Muleshoe Area Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
