Jeff Hill Injured in Hit-and-Run on Houston Highway in Victoria; Mark Sanchez Arrested

Jeff Hill Injured in Victoria Pedestrian Accident on Houston Highway; Mark Sanchez Arrested

Victoria, Texas (December 19, 2021) – A man in a wheelchair was critically injured Friday night in a hit-and-run accident in Victoria, according to the police.

The accident happened around 10:37 p.m., in the 3000 block of Houston Highway in front of Sonic.

Police said Jeff Hill, 64, was using a wheelchair when he was struck by a vehicle.

Hill was taken to Citizens Medical Center in critical condition.

The driver, Mark Sanchez, 19, of Victoria, fled the scene after the accident but was pulled over by police within minutes of the crash and arrested. He was arrested on suspicion of causing an accident involving death or serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony.

The police are investigating the crash.
