Jessica Brokish, Wanda Gebhart, 3 Children Killed in Mount Pleasant Crash on Interstate 30 near Jefferson Avenue Off-Ramp
Mount Pleasant, Texas (March 31, 2019) – Five people were killed Friday in a traffic crash in Mount Pleasant, according to a news report.
The deadly accident happened at an unspecified time Friday, March 22 on Interstate 30 near Jefferson Avenue exit.
As per the report, traffic was backed up on Interstate 30 due to a previous accident. An 18-wheeler driven by Wanda Gebhart, 64, did not slow down in time and rear-ended a minivan.
The 18-wheeler then crashed into a line of three other 18-wheelers.
Gebhart died at the scene. The minivan was occupied by Jessica Brokish, 41, Jeffery Brokish, 42, and their three children, ages 9, 6, and 2.
Jeffery sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. Jessica and the children were declared dead at the scene.
The other three 18-wheelers were occupied by Carlos Martinez, Juan Martinez, Ravshan Ibragim, and Abdul Al-Shaibani. All suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospitals.
Police are investigating the crash.
