Jesus Chavarria-Vasquez Suspect in Deadly Hit-And-Run Crash on LBJ Freeway in Dallas

Hieu Minh Doan Among 3 Friends Killed, Jesus Chavarria-Vasquez ID’d as Suspect in Dallas Crash on LBJ Freeway

Dallas, Texas (March 12, 2019) – Police have identified a man suspected to have been behind the wheel of a vehicle that struck and killed three friends who were working on a stalled car early Sunday morning in Dallas.
Jesus Chavarria-Vasquez, 32, is wanted by the police in connection with the incident that occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, on the LBJ Freeway.
Police said Hieu Minh Doan, 23, was the driver among five friends riding in a vehicle after leaving a concert when their car had a flat tire. Doan and two of his friends, identified as David Nguyean, 23, and Christopher Pham, 23, went out to fix the tire.
As the three friends were fixing the tire, a black 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup crashed into the vehicle and the pedestrians.
Doan, Nguyean and Pham were killed in the accident. The other two friends who were inside the stalled vehicle were injured in the crash.
The driver of the Chevy fled on foot, leaving a 13-year-old boy behind.
Police said Chavarria-Vasquez  is wanted for the crime as the Chevrolet found at the scene belongs to him.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
