Jesus Espinoza Arrested in Fatal West Oak Cliff Hit-and-Run on South Walton Walker Boulevard near Illinois Avenue

Oak Cliff, Texas (July 18, 2022) – According to the police, an accused drunken driver has been arrested following a fatal hit-and-run that happened on Saturday in west Oak Cliff.

The deadly accident occurred just before midnight, July 16, on South Walton Walker Boulevard near Illinois Avenue.

Police said 33-year-old Jesus Espinoza drove onto the shoulder and hit a stranded female driver and a man who was helping her.

The woman was killed in the crash. Her name has not been released.

The man was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

Espinoza fled the scene after the accident. A witness followed Espinoza’s vehicle and called for help. Officers later showed up at his home, and he was arrested. 

Espinoza has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, and failing to stop and render aid.

The police are investigating the crash.
