Jesus Garcia Killed in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash on Nile Drive and Ennis Joslin; Leroy Jasso Arrested

Corpus Christi, Texas (December 2, 2021) – The man who was injured on November 19 in a DWI crash in Corpus Christi has died, according to the police.

Jesus Garcia, 27, died on Tuesday, November 30.

The crash happened around 8:21 p.m., at the intersection of Nile Drive and Ennis Joslin Road.

Police said Leroy Jasso, 21, was driving on Nile Drive when he thought he had a green turn signal and turned. His car was then struck by an SUV that was traveling northbound on Ennis Joslin Road.

Garcia, who was a passenger in Jasso’s car, was ejected. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Another passenger in Jasso’s car was also injured in the crash.

The SUV driver was uninjured in the crash.

Jasso was arrested and originally charged with two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle. One of the charges has been upgraded to intoxication manslaughter following Garcia’s death.

The crash remains under investigation.
