Jesus Perez and Lesha Adams ID’d as 2 Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on North Shepherd Drive
Houston, Texas (April 12, 2019) – The pedestrians who were struck and killed by a vehicle late last month in Houston have been identified as Jesus Perez, 64, and Lesha Adams, 55, according to authorities.
The deadly accident happened at around 9:35 p.m. Saturday, March 30 in the 800 block of North Shepherd Drive.
Authorities said Perez and Adams were in the street when they were hit by a blue Chevrolet Cruze that was heading northbound on North Shepherd Drive.
Perez and Adams were taken to local hospitals, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Jada Mimms, did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the scene, but later returned. The suspect, who was not driving under the influence, was questioned and released.
Mimms was arrested on Tuesday, April 9 and charged with two counts of failure to stop and render aid involving death.
The crash remains under investigation.
