Jesus Salas Rodriguez Killed in 18-Wheeler Crash on I-35 in Waco

Jesus Salas Rodriguez ID’d as Man Killed in Waco Semi-Truck Crash on Interstate 35

Waco, Texas (February 14, 2020) – The man who was killed early Thursday morning in a semi-truck crash in Waco has been identified as 34-year-old Jesus Salas Rodriguez of Grand Prairie, according to officials.

The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. February 13, on Interstate 35 near Loop 340 next to the Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center campus.

DPS said a semi-truck, occupied by two people, was parked on the shoulder of the highway when it was hit by another semi-truck, driven by Rodriguez. Rodriguez also hit a Chevy Tahoe before his semi-truck caught fire.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people in the parked semi-truck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No injuries were reported in the Chevy.

The crash remains under investigation.
