Joaquin Martinez Killed in NW Harris County Pedestrian Accident on West Mount Houston Road

Harris County, Texas – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a truck Saturday night in northwest Harris County, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident happened around 9:50 p.m., January 13, in the 2500 block of West Mount Houston Road.

Deputies said Joaquin Martinez was crossing the eastbound lanes, outside of a crosswalk, when he was struck by a black GMC Sierra driven by Salvador Carranza Ventura. 

Martinez was knocked away about 150 feet from the crash. He was killed in the crash. 

Ventura stopped and stayed at the scene and was not intoxicated.

Deputies also said there were no streetlights in the area.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
