22-Year-Old Joaquin Salcedo Jr. Hit and Killed by Train in Pampa on Starkweather

Pampa, Texas (March 28, 2020) – According to officials, a person was fatally struck by a train Thursday night in Pampa.

The accident was reported around 8:30 p.m. on March 26, on Starkweather.

Police said 22-year-old Joaquin Salcedo, Jr., of Pampa, was walking near the train track when he was hit by a BNSF Railroad train.

The train conductor saw Salcedo and began to blow the horn but was unable to stop and hit him.

Salcedo was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation is underway.
