John Reimer Killed in Seminole Motorcycle Crash on Highway 385

Seminole, Texas (July 30, 2021) – A 56-year-old man was killed Wednesday night in a motorcycle crash, about five miles south of Seminole, according to the DPS.

The deadly accident happened just after 9:00 p.m., July 28, on Highway 385.

DPS said John P. Reimer, 56, of Seminole, was exiting a private drive in his motorcycle when he failed to yield the right of way and crashed into a passenger car driven by a 14-year-old boy.

Reimer was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was taken to Seminole Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The car driver and his passenger, also a 14-year-old boy, were uninjured in the crash. They were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
