Jon Edward Phillips ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Amarillo Crash on Western Street and Hester Road
Amarillo, Texas (May 27, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed Sunday night in a traffic crash in northwest Amarillo has been identified as Jon Edward Phillips, 52, of Amarillo, according to police.
The fatal accident was reported at around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, May 26 on Western Street and Hester Road.
Police said Phillips was riding his 2013 custom built motorcycle southbound on Western Street while Page Dianna Ansaldo, 19, Bandera, was operating a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound on Hester and turned south onto Western.
For an unknown reason, Phillips crashed into the rear of the Dodge.
Phillips was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to her injuries.
Ansaldo and a 19-year-old passenger in the truck were unhurt.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
