Jose Ramirez ID’d as Victim in Fatal Falls County Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 7 near Brazos River

Falls County, Texas (January 9, 2020) – The man who was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday in Falls County near the Brazos River has been identified as Jose Ramirez, 60, of Marlin, according to the authorities.

The accident occurred around 5:15 p.m., January 8, on Highway 7 near CR 183 west of Marlin.

Troopers said a Hyundai stopped behind a truck that was heading westbound on the highway and was rear-ended by a Dodge. A Chevrolet was also involved in the crash.

The impact pushed the Hyundai into the banks of the Brazos River.

Ramirez sustained major head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

A female victim was taken to the hospital with hip injuries.

Two teenagers who were riding in one of the vehicles were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
