Jose Rodriguez Jr., Killed in Williamson County Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

Williamson County, Texas (June 20, 2020) – A man was killed early Friday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Williamson County, according to authorities.

The fatal crash occurred around 5:34 a.m., June 19, in the 7400 block of Southbound Interstate 35.

DPS said a 2015 Freightliner, towing a semi-trailer, was traveling southbound on the freeway when it was rear-ended by a black Volkswagen Jetta. The Volkswagen then traveled into the center barricade.

A Chrysler PT Cruiser which was traveling behind the Volkswagen was unable to stop in time and struck the Volkswagen.

The driver of the Chrysler was taken to Scott and White Hospital in Temple in unknown condition.

The Volkswagen driver, Jose Rodriguez Jr., 27, of Georgetown was pronounced dead at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
