Joseph Tarr Killed and Three Injured in Crosby 3-Vehicle Crash on Crosby Freeway

Crosby, Texas (October 9, 2019) – A wrong-way driver was killed and three other people were injured in a traffic collision Tuesday night in Crosby, according to the authorities.

The collision took place at about midnight, October 8, on Crosby Freeway near Runneberg.

Deputies said Rocky Joseph Tarr was driving a Toyota Sienna minivan westbound in the eastbound lanes when he hit a Chevrolet Astro van. The impact caused a blue Ford Focus to collide with the Astro van.

The Astro van and the Focus contained members of the same family who were heading home from church.

Tarr was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were airlifted to the hospital for treatment. Another passenger, a 42-year-old man was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.

The crash closed the freeway for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
