Josey Shutter Killed, Dwayne Boyett Hurt in Polk County Crash on FM 1988

Polk County, Texas (April 21, 2019) – A fatal collision involving two cars left one person dead and sent another to a hospital in Polk County on Thursday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The collision happened approximately five miles east of Livingston on FM 1988 around 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 18.
Investigators said 28-year-old Josey Shutter of Livingston was operating an SUV that was eastbound on FM 1988 when he allowed it to drift into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a westbound pickup truck.
Shutter succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, Dwayne Boyett, 34, of Goodrich, was transported to a hospital for treatment of his injuries.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
