Joshua Fornash Killed, Monica Chavez Injured in Odessa Crash at 16th Street and FM 1936

Joshua Fornash ID’d as Man Killed in Odessa Motorcycle Accident at 16th Street and FM 1936   

Ector County, Texas (April 18, 2022) – The motorcyclist who died Friday night following a traffic collision in Ector County has been identified as Joshua Fornash, 32, of Odessa, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 8:20 p.m. on April 15, near the intersection of 16th Street and FM 1936.

DPS said a Ford Fusion made a left turn directly into the path of a motorcycle driven by Fornash. Fornash ultimately crashed into the Fusion.

Fornash died in the crash, while his 22-year-old passenger, Monica Chavez, of Odessa, was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock with serious injuries.

The Fusion driver, Olivas Elia Hernandez, 50, of Odessa, was uninjured in the crash. The passenger in the truck, Jose Luis Vasquez, 54, of Odessa, was treated and released.

No other details regarding the crash were available.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
