Joshua Pierite, Brooklyn Pierite, Aubrey Alleman, and Mi’lania Pierite Injured in Arlington Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20 near Hwy 360; Tyler Hampton Arrested

Arlington, Texas (December 22, 2021) – A family of four people was injured Tuesday night in a DWI crash in Arlington, according to a local news source.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m., December 21, in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near the Highway 360 interchange.

According to the report, witnesses told officers that a Mazda MX5 was driving erratically when it struck a Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

The force of the impact caused the pickup to go off the roadway, strike and roll over a guardrail. It then landed on its side.

The Tundra driver, Joshua Pierite, was pinned inside of the truck and had to be extricated. He was taken to the hospital with a crushed femur and underwent surgery Wednesday morning. His wife, Brooklyn Pierite, was taken to the hospital with broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Their children, 4-year-old Aubrey Alleman and 2-year-old Mi’lania Pierite were in the back seat at the time of the crash.

Mi’lania was airlifted to Cook Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries. Aubrey had minor injuries.

The Mazda driver, 25-year-old Tyler Hampton, was not seriously injured in the crash. He was arrested on three counts of intoxication assault with serious bodily injury and was being held at the Arlington City Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope Joshua Pierite, Brooklyn Pierite, Aubrey Alleman, and Mi’lania Pierite recover quickly.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol however is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.

Regardless of what substance caused the driver’s reaction time to become significantly altered, intoxication by any means can cause terrible accidents and injuries.

Innocent victims harmed by drunk drivers are entitled to compensation for their injuries, including but not limited to medical expenses; lost wages; pain and suffering and mental anguish; physical impairment and disability; and most importantly, punitive damages to deter future conduct.

If you have been injured because of a drunk driver, you will want a knowledgeable accident lawyer to bring a  personal injury action against the drunk driver.
