Joyce Venable Shull and Kinsley Smith Killed in Amarillo Car Crash on 45th Avenue

Amarillo, Texas (June 10, 2019) – Two women were killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Amarillo, according to a local news source.

The fatal collision happened at about 1:40 p.m. June 9, in the 7900 block of W. 45th Avenue.

Police said Joyce Venable Shull, 65, was driving eastbound on 45th Avenue when she lost control, crossed over the center turn lane and crashed head-on into a westbound vehicle driven by Kinsley Smith, 24.

Shull and Smith were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said speed was a factor in the crash.

The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is investigating the crash.
