Juan Luis Zuniga Jr. Hit, Killed by Train on Chandler Highway in Tyler

Juan Luis Zuniga Jr., Killed in Tyler Train-Pedestrian Accident on Chandler Highway 

Tyler, Texas (June 6, 2020) – The man who was fatally hit by a train early Friday morning in Tyler has been identified as Juan Luis Zuniga Jr., 23, of Tyler., according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 4:50 a.m. June 5, in the 4500 block of Chandler Highway.

Police said Zuniga was lying on the railroad tracks when he was struck by a westbound train. The train conductor blew the horn multiple times, but couldn’t stop in time before hitting Zuniga.

Zuniga was killed in the crash. 

Tyler police and Union Pacific are investigating the accident.
