Juan Vazquez-Rico Killed in College Station Two-Vehicle Crash at Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Dartmouth Street

College Station, Texas (August 9, 2021) – One person was killed, and three others were injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash at a College Station intersection, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:45 p.m., August 7, at the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Dartmouth Street.

Police said Juan Antonio Vazquez-Rico, 31, of Caldwell, was driving southbound on Dartmouth Street when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by a westbound SUV.

Vazquez-Rico was killed in the crash. The passenger in his vehicle was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver and a passenger in the SUV were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.

The crash closed eastbound Harvey Mitchell Parkway at Texas Avenue. Westbound Harvey Mitchell Parkway was diverted northbound onto Dartmouth.

The crash remains under investigation.
