Juan Vega Critically Injured in Fatal Crash on U.S. 377 in Whitesboro

Juan Vega Airlifted after Whitesboro Crash on U.S. 377 near Chisum Trail Road

Grayson County, Texas (June 10, 2022) – Juan Vega, 36, of Whitewright, was airlifted after a car crash that left two people dead Thursday afternoon near Whitesboro in Grayson County.

The incident occurred around 12:47 p.m. Thursday, June 9, on U.S. 377, just north of Chisum Trail Road.

Reginaldo Rogelio Romo, 39, of Gainesville, was driving southbound U.S. 377 when his car drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle driven by Steven James Mounger, 39, of Anna.

Romo and Mounger were declared dead at the scene at 12:52 p.m.

Vega, who was riding as a passenger in Mounger’s car, was airlifted to Medical City Denton in critical condition.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
