Juan Villarreal ID’d as Man Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Boerne Stage Road near I-10

San Antonio, Texas (January 1, 2020) – The man who fatally hit several vehicles Sunday morning in San Antonio has been identified as Juan Villarreal,36, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident occurred just before 2:00 a.m. December 29, on Boerne Stage Road off Interstate 10.

Police said Villarreal was driving eastbound on the westbound frontage road for Interstate 10 when he pulled over near the Boerne Stage Road exit and got out of his vehicle. He then began walking away from his car and was hit by a vehicle that was exiting I-10. The driver of that car stopped to render aid but left Villarreal in the roadway.

Villarreal was then hit by another vehicle that was exiting the interstate. The driver stayed at the scene and called the police.

Villarreal was killed in the crash.

The police are still looking for the first driver.

An investigation is ongoing.
