Juan Yon and Yahir Cedillo Among 2 Victims Killed in El Paso Crash on North Ascension Road

El Paso, Texas (October 13, 2022) – 18-year-old Juan Alfredo Herrera Yon and 19-year-old Yahir Cedillo were among three people who were killed in a head-on collision early Monday morning in east El Paso County. The third victim was identified earlier as 19-year-old Gael Juaquin Torres Sanchez.

Yon, Cedillo and Sanchez died in the crash that happened around midnight, on October 10, in the 1600 block of Ascension Road between Horizon City and Montana Vista.

Deputies said a Nissan Sentra and a Ford F-150 were involved in a head-on collision. One of the vehicles failed to keep right and drifted into oncoming traffic at a curve in the roadway.

Three occupants of the Nissan, Yon, Cedillo, and Sanchez, were killed in the crash. All three victims were from El Paso.

The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

No other information was available.

The crash remains under investigation.
