69-Year-Old Juana Garza Galvan Killed in Cameron County Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 1847 and FM 106

Cameron County, Texas (May 5, 2020) – According to the DPS, one person was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Cameron County.

The fatal crash occurred at about 7:37 p.m. May 2, at the intersection of FM 1847 and FM 106.

DPS said a white Toyota pickup truck towing a boat was heading southbound on FM 1847 while a black Ford pickup truck was heading eastbound on FM 106.

The Toyota driver was distracted and ran a red light, causing the Ford to hit the Toyota.

The passenger in the Ford, 69-year-old Juana Garza Galvan of Donna, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators said alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
