Julian Rico Killed in Kilgore Bicycle Crash at State Highway 42 and Barton Street

Kilgore, Texas (July 16, 2021) – According to the police, a man was killed on Monday in a bicycle crash in Kilgore.

The deadly crash happened around 10:21 a.m., July 12, at the intersection of State Highway 42 and Barton Street.

Police said Julian Rico, 73, of Kilgore, was riding a bicycle when he was struck by a semi-truck at the intersection.

Rico was taken to a Tyler hospital, where he later died.

The semi-truck driver, Daniel Hatten, 32, was uninjured in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
