Julivan Do Tran Arrested in Houston Car Crash That Killed Motorcyclist at Voss and San Felipe
Houston, Texas (April 17, 2019) – The driver who caused a traffic accident killed a motorcyclist Monday evening in Houston has been arrested, according to police.
The deadly crash happened at about 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 15 in the area of Voss and San Felipe.
Police said the motorcyclist was splitting lanes when she hit two vehicles near Westheimer and Voss and then fled the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles pulled into the parking to check damages when the drivers saw the woman on the motorcycle drive past them.
One of the motorist, identified as Julivan Do Tran told investigators she began following the woman. During the chase, the woman on the motorcycle slowed down, and Tran stopped and attempted to flag her down, but she refused to stop and drove around the car.
Tran followed the motorcycle behind a nearby Kroger store, where the motorcycle lost control and crashed.
Tran then ran over the downed motorcyclist. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Tran stopped at the scene and complied with investigators. He was charged with manslaughter.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
