Jyntri Tillery and Bettye Stafford Killed in Midlothian Two-Vehicle Crash on US 287

Midlothian, Texas (January 25, 2022) – Two drivers were killed, and a child was injured Sunday evening in a wrong-way crash in Midlothian, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 8:21 p.m., January 23, on US Highway 287 near Presidential Parkway.

Authorities said a vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway when it crashed into a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, Jyntri Tillery, 26, of Crowley, was killed in the crash. Her 6-year-old daughter was taken to Children’s Hospital in Dallas and in stable condition.

The wrong-way driver, Bettye Stafford, 83, of Midlothian, was also killed in the crash.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
