Keith De La Vega Killed in Abilene Two-Vehicle Crash on South 7th Street

Abilene, Texas (January 25, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a head-on collision Saturday evening in Abilene, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m., January 23, in the 4400 block of South 7th Street.

Police said a black Chevrolet Traverse was traveling westbound in the inside lane when a Kia veered left, entered the inside westbound lane, and crashed head-on into the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet driver was taken by private vehicle to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Kia driver, 31-year-old Keith De La Vega of Abilene, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details regarding the crash were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
