Kelcey Lynn Ronning Killed and Martin McDonell Injured in Nolan County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 70 near FM 608

Sweetwater, Texas (July 8, 2020) – The woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Monday in Sweetwater, Nolan County has been identified as 24-year-old Kelcey Lynn Ronning, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash occurred around noon, June 6, on Highway 70 near FM 608.

DPS said Ronning was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram northbound on the highway when she collided with a southbound 2007 Chevrolet pickup that was towing a trailer.

Ronning was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevrolet driver, 84-year-old Martin McDonell, of Sweetwater, was taken to Shannon West Texas Memorial Hospital in San Angelo with incapacitating injuries. His passenger, 62-year-old John Clyde Gillentine, Jr., also of Sweetwater, was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
