Galveston, Texas (June 16, 2020) – According to the police, the body of the man who was ejected into the water following a rollover crash Sunday night in Galveston has been found.

The crash happened on Sunday, June 14, on the Galveston Causeway near the bridge.

Police said Kent Zavala, a 20-year old Crosby volunteer firefighter, was riding in a Jeep along with his two friends and a dog when they were involved in a three-vehicle crash.

The Jeep then crashed into a guardrail on the outbound lane of the causeway.

The impact ejected Zavala and a dog through the soft top of the Jeep into the water.

Two men were taken to UTMB with critical injuries.

The dog was later rescued.

Zavala went missing in the water, and his body was found Tuesday morning by a fisherman.

An investigation is underway.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Kent Zavala.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
