Khairullah Danish Killed in Central Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on I-35 at 38½ Street

Austin, Texas (January 13, 2021) – One person was killed early Saturday morning in a DUI crash in Central Austin, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 1:15 a.m., January 9, on the I-35 service road at 38½ Street near the Fiesta Mart.

According to the report, Christian Ramos, 24, was driving a 2013 Mazda northbound on I-35, while Khairullah Danish, 41, was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla eastbound on East 38½ Street.

Ramos failed to yield at the intersection and struck the Toyota at a high rate of speed.

Danish was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officers said Ramos was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was arrested and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. He is being held at the Travis County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the police at 512-974-4424.
