Kiersten Smith Killed and Five Injured in Dallas Crane Accident on Live Oak Street

Dallas, Texas (June 11, 2019) – The woman who was killed Sunday afternoon when a crane collapsed into an apartment building, leaving five other people injured in downtown Dallas has been identified as Kiersten Smith, 29, of Elan City Lights Apartments, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office Monday.

The incident was reported just before 2:00 p.m. on June 9, in the 2600 block of Live Oak Street.

Officials said the crane toppled and collapsed into the apartment due to a severe thunderstorm.

Responding emergency crews found Smith’s body inside an apartment.

Five people were taken to the hospital after the incident. Two of the victims were listed in good condition, two suffered serious injuries, and one suffered minor injuries and was later discharged from a hospital.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
