Kimberly Dewitt Killed in Wood County Bicycle Accident on FM 312

Wood County, Texas (February 11, 2022) – A woman was killed Wednesday evening in a bicycle accident in Wood County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident occurred around 7:11 p.m., February 9, on FM 312, about 2.2 miles south of Winnsboro.

DPS said a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle and 2021 Toyota Tacoma were traveling southbound behind a bicyclist.

The Beetle tried to pass the bicyclist, but the bicyclist veered into the Beetle’s way.

The Beetle and the Toyota then collided with the bicyclist.

The bicyclist, Kimberly M. Dewitt, 29, of Dallas, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Beetle driver was identified as Noah M. Clark, 25, of Winnsboro, while the Toyota driver was identified as Audra L. Herring, a 52-year-old woman from Winnsboro.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
