Kimberly Fridel Killed in 18-Wheeler Crash at Highway 105 and FM 159 in Grimes County

Kimberly Fridel ID’d as Driver Killed in Grimes County Crash at Highway 105 and FM 159

Grimes County, Texas (March 3, 2023) – The driver who died in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon in Grimes County has been identified as Kimberly Fridel, 50, of Navasota.

The deadly crash occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the intersection of Highway 105 and FM 159.

According to the DPS, Fridel was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on FM 159 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and rear-ended a 2011 Freightliner 18-wheeler that was heading eastbound on Highway 105.

Fridel died in the crash. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
