Kristine N. Rodriguez Killed in San Angelo Three-Vehicle Crash on N. Chadbourne Street at 19th Street

San Angelo, Texas (January 27, 2021) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in San Angelo, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on January 25, at the intersection of N. Chadbourne Street and 19th Street.

Police said Steven Baros, 32, was driving a Ford F-250 southbound on N. Chadbourne Street at a high rate of speed when he attempted to pass to the left of a Dodge Durango that was turning left onto 19th Street, resulting in a collision.

The F-250 continued across 19th Street and collided with a Ford Escape that was stopped in the northbound lane of Chadbourne Street.

The impact pushed the Escape into a tree and caused the F-250 to flip and roll.

The Escape driver, Kristine N. Rodriguez, 38, was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Two occupants in the Durango, a 60-year-old and a 62-year-old, were taken to a local hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Baros was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was arrested after being released and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest/detention, causing death. Both charges are felonies.

The crash remains under investigation.
