Kurtis Roemeling Identified as Man Killed in Copperas Cove Train Accident on Farm Road 1113

Copperas Cove, Texas (March 16, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a train on Thursday morning in Copperas Cove has been identified as Kurtis Michael Roemeling, 29, according to the Copperas Cove Police Department.
The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. March 14, near the 1200 block of Farm Road 1113 (West Avenue B).
Police said Roemeling was walking westbound on the train tracks when he was hit by the westbound train. The train was bound for Temple from Sweetwater when the incident happened.
Roemeling was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The two BNSF employees who were on the train at the time of the collision did not sustain any injuries.
The police in Copperas Cove are investigating the incident.
